Beverage Cart Worker - Seasonal

Department: 463 Golf Course Clubhouse
Location: Page, AZ

JOB SUMMARY

Under direction, serves food/beverages to customers on the golf course while always maintaining a neat and sanitary work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Take orders and serve all food and beverage requests.
  • Provide excellent customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and gracious service to all guests including preparing food, beverages and snacks as ordered.
  • Secure proper payment and use proper cash handling procedures.
  • Perform various side-work duties as assigned.
  • Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of work area and service equipment.
  • Knowledge of menus, ability to make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
  • Ability to describe all menu items and daily specials, prices, methods of preparation, and to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties.
  • Understand the proper use of the beverage cart.
  • Report all equipment problems to manager.
  • Assist in the restocking and replenishment of supplies.
  • Follow safe and distinct opening and closing procedures.
  • Keep accurate count of the restaurant and bar inventory.
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; and
  • Two (2) years customer service and cash handling experience
  • Food service and bartending preferred

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must posses a valid State driver license upon hire.
  • Must be able to obtain Food Managers Card through Coconino County
  • Must be able to obtain Alcohol Serving Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures and goals of the City of Page and the department.
  • Knowledge of Lake Powell National Golf Course Rules and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic golf etiquette.
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in food and drink service.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling.
  • Skill in dealing tactfully and effectively with the public.
  • Skill in the safe and lawful operation of all required equipment.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with all levels of personnel and the general public.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to organize and lead staff as a team.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the functions of the position.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions from others.
  • Ability to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, or flexible schedules.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, walk, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces, kneel, squat, stoop, bend, reach, turn, climb, crawl, listen, and use hands and fingers. The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain calm during routine and stressful conditions. The employee is also required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

The work requires decision making that could lead to major community or organizational consequences if this position fails to make the appropriate decision at the time.
